Directions
From North (A10): Take exit 36 off the A10 (signed
Pons) and follow road to Gemozac (D732). Mortagne-sur-Gironde
is signposted at Gemozac (D6). This leads you to Boutenac
Touvent where you will come to a roundabout. Turn
left onto the D730. Continue on this road through
Brie sous Mortagne for approx. 5 km.
Turn right when you see the signpost
to Saint Fort sur Gironde. Drive straight into the
centre of the village (across one mini roundabout)
and Chateau Simon is at the far end of the village
square - you can't miss it!
If you arrive by air from Bordeaux,
the directions are as follows:
From South (A10): Take exit 37 off the A10, which
is signposted Mirambeau. Take the D730 signposted
Royan - it's a left turn at the T junction after the
toll booth. Follow the road until you see the turning
(on the left) for Saint Fort sur Gironde. Drive straight
into the village and Chateau Simon is at the far end
of the village square. |

BY CAR
Chateau Pierre-Henri Simon is about 4 hours' drive
from St Malo, 5 hours from Le Havre or 7 hours from
Calais. The motorway which brings you into Charente
Maritime is the A10 and local directions are below.
The best route from Calais is via Boulogne, Rouen,
Le Mans and Tours - simply follow the signs and you
can’t go wrong. It's motorway all the way (apart
from going around Rouen) and brand new roads make
the drive a pleasure and quicker than the route via
Paris.
